HOA 101 Series 

In collaboration with Moeller Graf Community Association Law, this informative series is tailored for current HOA members and anyone interested in joining or learning more about homeowners’ associations. The series aims to empower and educate neighborhood leaders, fostering stronger connections and vibrant
neighborhoods across Aurora.

The series takes place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 9, 17 and 22, at the Aurora Municipal Center, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway, Aurora Room. Participants are encouraged to attend all three sessions but not required. The topics that will be covered in this series include:

  • HOA Overview and Best Practices (April 9): Learn about governing documents, how to update them, and their impact on HOAs. Explore the roles and responsibilities of HOA boards, management companies, and homeowners, and how they work together to create thriving communities.

  • HOA New Legislation and Statutory Updates (April 17): Get an overview of legislative changes in the HOA sector over the past five years, covering topics like collections, covenants, foreclosure and policies. Plus, learn about upcoming laws for 2025, including the Corporate Transparency Act.

  • HOA Meeting Best Practices (April 22): Discover tips and techniques for effectively managing all types of HOA meetings, ensuring your community operates smoothly and efficiently.

Register your neighborhood/community group with the city

The city launched a new customer portal March 15, 2024, at DevPortal.AuroraGov.org. By registering your neighborhood or community group of three people or more through this city portal, you will receive notices regarding nearby proposed developments, have the opportunity to comment on those applications, and qualify to apply for neighborhood grant opportunities or book meeting room space at libraries and fire stations for free. Registration for the portal is free. Emails registered will also be added to the city's distribution list for the weekly This is Aurora newsletter for the latest city news, updates and events.
