About Aurora Fire Rescue

Aurora Fire Rescue is an all-hazards department. The department has a total of 17 Fire Stations. AFR serves our community with the following apparatus: 17 Engines, 6 Ladder Trucks, 4 Medical Service Units, and several supplemental resources.
The city of Aurora is the 52nd largest municipality in the United States. The population is estimated to be more than 404,000.
The city of Aurora maintains an “ISO Class 1” rating. That ISO rating is the highest possible public protection classification. The department is also a long-standing accredited agency through the Center for Public Safety Excellence.
