Outreach Program: In-classroom or virtual with delivered supplies

Assign your students a quick review of one of the museum's online exhibits and then a museum educator facilitates a virtual discussion with your students based on the content of select exhibit panels. Our staff choose exhibit panels for students to review and questions are provided to get your students thinking about the content. Recommended for Middle and High School students. About 30 minutes.
Topics include, but are not limited to: Religion in Aurora, Aurora government, Toys through the Decades.

Virtual Discussion with a Curator
Schedule a time to speak with a staff member from the Aurora History Museum & Historic Sites. The discussion includes a short summary of job responsibilities, but primarily provides time for staff to answer student questions about working in a small museum. Choose from the following topics: collections and archives management, exhibits development, historic preservation, school and public programs, or museum management.

Discussions are designed for museum studies or public history college classes. Times can vary, but expect 45 minutes or less depending on student questions. Availability includes weekday evenings or during the day on Saturday.
