Aurora Municipal Center
15151 E. Alameda Parkway

Presented by... The city of Aurora. Now in its 10th year, this signature event continues to celebrate what makes Aurora one of the most diverse cities in the U.S. - the people!

Global Fest is... A free event celebrating the cultures and communities that call Aurora home. It is a celebration of diversity and inclusion and serves as Aurora's summer multicultural experience.

What you'll find at this unique event... Performers will entertain all ages with family-friendly music and dance, a global fashion show, a parade of nations, an international marketplace, food, vendors and more.

What's new this year... A whole lot! Nearly 20 food vendors - the most ever at Global Fest - will be on site serving up cuisine from around the world. More flags than ever before will be featured during the Parade of Nations, including Ukraine. Lucha Libre, a competitive reality-TV winner, a talented young Aurora keyboardist, and other performances from several continents will entertain guests.

You will want to...  Share every moment of this festival. Tag us @AuroraGov when you capture amazing moments on Instagram and Facebook.

Global Fest 2023
Q&A with Micah Smith

Denver7 social equity reporter Micah Smith joins Global Fest to emcee the event for a third year. She anchors the weekday 4:00 p.m. newscasts on Denver7 and hosts “Real Talk,” a weekly public affairs show focusing on the stories and experiences of underserved communities. Micah also serves as the EDI lead for Denver7 and the president of the Colorado Association of Black Journalists.

Why are you returning as an emcee for Global Fest?
I am returning to Global Fest because it is one of my favorite annual events in the metro. During my first year emceeing the event, I was so excited to see all of the countries and nationalities that are represented in Aurora, and surprised to learn it is the most diverse city in Colorado! I was mesmerized by the cultural dances, clothing, food, and jewelry that could be found in every corner of the festival.

What do you like most about Global Fest?
As someone who values diversity and is always working to make spaces more inclusive, Global Fest is the physical embodiment of so many of those goals. Often, diversity and inclusion discussions happen after something unfortunate has happened. But Global Fest is a celebratory time when the diversity and inclusion are front and center and the entire Aurora community can simply appreciate all of the cultures represented in the city.

What do you want people to know about Global Fest?
I want people to know that Global Fest is a must-do family friendly event with something for everybody. Whether you’re a foodie, a shopper, a parent with children that need something fun and free to do on the weekend, Global Fest is for you!

Why does Denver7 support Global Fest and so many other great events in our community?
One of our goals at Denver7 is to work hand in hand with the people we serve to build an even better community. We’re proud to partner with the City of Aurora on Global Fest and so many other community events. We believe so strongly in supporting the communities where we live and work that we started our own nonprofit fund, Denver7 Gives. Our generous viewers have donated more than $2 million to Denver7 Gives, helping our neighbors in need and turning stories of challenge into stories of hope. To learn more about Denver7 Gives and see some of these stories of hope, visit www.Denver7.com/Gives.
