Aurora's Housing and Community Development Division addresses the city's housing and community development needs, goals and strategies. The division is responsible for creating and executing Aurora’s Housing Strategy, which focuses on adding and preserving affordable housing units, creating jobs and supporting Aurora’s small business community. The division uses local and federal grant dollars and other government resources to manage housing programs (as listed below) that benefit Aurora's low- and moderate-income individuals. The division also partners with housing developers, who build and/or rehabilitate housing units, to help preserve affordable housing.

Aurora Housing Strategy

The Aurora Housing Strategy is designed to help guide policymakers, city staff, housing developers and community members in achieving a city for all Aurorans.

Rental Homes in Aurora

The Aurora Housing Locator tool lists housing options for rent in Aurora. The tool helps individuals and families find housing in Aurora that fits their needs and income and includes live chat and phone assistance from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The tool also features helpful resources and  allows property managers to list rentals at no cost. Questions? Citizens Advisory Committee on Housing and Community Development 

The purpose of this committee is to assist City Council in the development, implementation and evaluation of the city's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Programs, and formulate recommendations for Council's approval for annual and one-time program/project grant allocations; develop and approve community development goals and objectives; maintain consistency in achieving the Aurora City Council goals, and review applicable consolidated, annual, and/or other plans for submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Learn more about this committee.
