
(March 28, 2025) – The Aurora Police Department Major Crime Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday in west Aurora.
About 9:15 a.m., Aurora police patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment in the 10700 block of East Exposition Avenue. Once at the scene, the officers located a 41-year-old Aurora man with an apparent gunshot wound.
Officers performed lifesaving actions on the man until medical responders arrived at the scene. The man was taken to a local hospital where he later died. He will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
A 37-year-old Aurora woman also was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment of minor injuries. The woman was later released from the hospital and detained for questioning by detectives.
The preliminary investigation suggests the shooting stemmed from a possible domestic violence incident. There are no outstanding suspects, and no arrests have been made.
