At approximately 04:33 PM, Aurora Fire Rescue responded to the report of a structure fire near the intersection of N Fundy Street & 62nd Place. Crews were on the scene within minutes and found a two-story single-family home with black smoke from the second-floor window.
AFR worked fast and efficiently to place hose lines for fire suppression, establish a water supply, complete searches for any missing people or pets, and secure utilities for safety. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control and prevent further damage.
Thankfully, no one was hurt or injured, as the family safely vacated the house before AFR arrived. Sadly, the family will be displaced, and the Red Cross is working with the family to gain shelter. Until the origin and cause are determined, the fire is under investigation. At this time, no further updates.
