(Nov. 14, 2023) – The Aurora Police Department Major Crime Homicide Unit is investigating a double shooting that occurred Monday night at an apartment complex in west Aurora.
About 6:30 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 14000 block of East Iowa Drive. Once at the scene, officers located two men with apparent gunshot wounds.
Officers provided lifesaving actions to the men until medical responders arrived at the scene. Both victims were rushed to local hospitals for treatment.
One of those two victims died overnight in the hospital from injuries they sustained in the shooting. That victim will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office pending notifications of next of kin. The second victim is expected to survive.
Witnesses told investigators a white or gray Nissan Frontier, or similar looking pickup, sped away from the scene after the shooting. Investigators are asking for the public’s help with more information about the pickup.
