Aurora Woman Dies in Sunday Night Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Crash
(Nov. 6, 2023) – An Aurora woman has died from injuries she sustained in a vehicle versus pedestrian crash late Sunday night in southwest Aurora.
Officers responded about 10:15 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023, to a report of a crash at the intersection of South Parker Road and East Dartmouth Avenue. The preliminary investigation revealed a 57-year-old Aurora woman was running across Parker Road when she was struck by a 2016 Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 67-year-old Aurora man.
Passersby were performing CPR on the woman when officers arrived at the crash. Officers took over lifesaving actions until medical responders arrived at the scene. The woman was then rushed by ambulance to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The woman will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
The driver of the Suburban reported the crash to 911 and cooperated with the investigation. Investigators do not suspect speed or intoxication were contributing factors to the crash.
The crash marks the 60th traffic-related death this year in Aurora.
