(Oct. 1, 2023) – The Aurora Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Saturday in the Meadow Hills neighborhood.
About 12:15 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 4200 block of South Parker Road for a report of a serious injury crash. A silver BMW SUV was southbound on Parker Road when it struck the curb, drove over the median and collided with a white Jeep Cherokee that was driving north on Parker.
The male driver of the BMW was unconscious when officers arrived at the scene. He was taken to a local hospital where he died later that day from injuries he sustained in the crash.
Three occupants of the Jeep Cherokee also were taken to local hospitals. They all had serious injuries but are expected to survive.
Northbound South Parker Road was closed for more than five hours for the crash investigation. The roadway reopened about 5:15 p.m.
The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the BMW driver after notification of next of kin.

The crash marks the 55th traffic-related death this year in Aurora.
