Armed Robbery Suspects

Aurora Police Asking for Public’s Help with IDs of Armed Robbery Suspects
Posted on 09/12/2023

(Sept. 12, 2023) – The Aurora Police Department is asking for the public’s help with information about three of four suspects associated with gun crimes in Aurora, Thornton and Longmont.

About 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, Aurora police officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at a sporting goods store in the 6300 block of South Main Street. Store employees told officers four teen-aged Latino males arrived at the store, took several items from the clothing section and left without paying.

A store manager told police when she tried to confront the males, one produced a handgun and pointed it in the air before leaving the store. Moments later, the armed male pointed the firearm at another employee who tried to take his picture with a cellphone.

The males arrived and left in a Chevy Tahoe featuring license plate 333-ZTH, which at the time was reported stolen out of Morrison. The subsequent investigation into the robbery revealed the vehicle and four suspects were involved in two other crimes the same day as the Aurora armed robbery.

One of those incidents was an armed robbery at a store in Thornton. After the crime in Thornton, the suspects drove to Aurora and robbed the sporting goods store.

The suspects then drove to Longmont and robbed a shoe store. One of the suspects produced a firearm when confronted by store employees. The armed suspect fired the weapon several times at employees and store customers who tried to take his picture.

The suspect who was armed during the Aurora robbery was not the same suspect who produced and fired a gun in the Longmont robbery. Investigators think multiple suspects are armed or they are taking turns with the firearm when committing crimes.

Aurora investigators have identified and arrested one of the four suspects. Investigators are asking for the public’s help with information about the remaining three suspects who have not yet been identified.

Anyone with any information about the suspects or the crimes is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867). Tipsters could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
