(Sept. 8, 2023) – The Aurora Police Department’s Major Crime Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting in the North Aurora neighborhood.
Officers responded at 6:13 p.m. Thursday, when a 911 caller reported finding an unconscious man at a car wash in the 8900 block of East Colfax. When officers arrived at the scene, they located the man who was obviously deceased.
An Adams County coroner responded and during their investigation located a gunshot wound. The call was elevated from a welfare check to homicide, prompting the response of the Crime Scene Unit and the Major Crime Homicide Unit.
There is no suspect information. The name of the deceased will be released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office after an autopsy and notification of next of kin.
