Aurora Fire Rescue crews fight fire in attic space that started in foliage outside the residence.
At approximately 06:40pm on August 30th, Aurora Fire Rescue responded to reports of a structure fire in the neighborhood N Lima St. and E 1st Ave.
First arriving fire units found signs of fire and smoke coming from the exterior of the structure and moving into the attic space along the eaves of the roofline. Firefighters put the fire out on the exterior of the structure then made entry and found fire in the attic space and proceeded to mitigate the hazard. Next arriving crews ventilated the roof of the structure and conducted searches of the building. No human or pet victims were found within the structure one person was evaluated by medic crews on scene but declined medical treatment or transport. The fire was quickly brought under control by crews on-scene and is currently under investigation.
Unfortunately, 3 adult occupants of the residence will be displaced as a result of the fire. Red Cross of Colorado is providing them with support at this time.
