A family has been displaced from their home following a fire in north Aurora this evening.
After 6 p.m. today Aurora911 received calls about a possible home fire in the 900 block of N. Galena Street. When crews from Aurora Fire Rescue (AFR) arrived on scene, they found heavy smoke and fire coming from the home.
Firefighters conducted searches of the home for people and pets. No one was home at the time of the incident, so there were no injuries. Once the fire was extinguished members of AFR contacted The Red Cross to provide support and comfort to the three people who were displaced.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and there is no initial indication of what started the blaze.
