Dog rescued and safely returned to homeowner.
At approximately, 1948 Aurora Fire Rescue responded to reports of a structure fire in the neighborhood around Alameda & Peoria.
Upon arrival crews found fire inside a single-family home. Fire crews simultaneously began stretching hose lines, searches for any missing people or pets, and vertical ventilation to relieve smoke and heat from inside the home to better help crews inside find the fire, and complete searches for anyone missing. One dog was found and safely returned outside to the homeowner who was able to make it out safely.
The fire is under control and crews are beginning to clean up. Gas and electricity were secured for safety reasons, Xcel Energy was notified and is responding out. The fire is currently under investigation. No further updates expected.
