Sign up today and get notified when water is continuously running through your meter
The recently installed Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) and upgrades to our water customer portal now enable Aurora Water customers to access timely and accurate water-use information down to the hourly level. But that’s not all! Customers can also set continuous flow event alerts, giving timely notification of possible leaks. Customers can view their water use and set alerts through the water customer portal.
If you haven’t yet registered to use the Water Customer Portal, signing up is easy. Simply visit our water customer portal webpage for more information and sign-up tutorials.
Information about continuous flow event alerts
A continuous flow event alert will be sent when the water meter at your property has recorded continuous usage for at least 24 hours. For instance, residential properties have periods during the day or night—often when residents are sleeping—when no water fixtures or irrigation systems are running. Therefore, it is unusual for the meter in a single-family home, small multi-family building or property with an irrigation account to register continuous usage over consecutive 24-hour periods. This may indicate a leak or a tap, hose bib or valve accidentally left on.
We recommend checking and fixing potential leaks or other causes of high water use for all property types. While continuous flow event alerts will provide early notification of constant usage occurring, customers are responsible for finding and addressing leaks at their property.
