Boating at the Aurora Reservoir
• All State of Colorado Boating Regulations are in effect and enforced. All watercraft with a motor or a sail, including electric motors are required to be registered with the State of Colorado.
• Non-motorized vessels or electric motors ONLY. No gas motors.
• Boating season starts once the ice has thawed (mid to late March) and ends Nov. 30.
• Lifejackets/personal flotation devices are required for everyone regardless of age on board any type of watercraft, including but not limited to paddle boards, boats, kayaks, canoes, etc.
• Children 12 years of age and younger are REQUIRED to wear a lifejacket/personal flotation device at ALL times while on board a watercraft.
• Lifejackets must be a U.S. Coast Guard approved, properly fitting size for the intended wearer, and readily accessible to the wearer on the watercraft.
• Boat ramp is available during the season. Public boat dock is available depending on water levels.
• Boat dry storage is available for rent. Call the Park Office at 303.326.8425 to inquire.
• Fishing boats and/or sail boats are NOT available for rent.
• Hand launched vessels such as kayaks, paddle boards, canoes, etc. are required to have lifejackets/personal floatation devices for all persons on board.
• A Water Access Pass (WAP) is required for any vessel that is launched by a trailer by backing into the water and any vessel that has a live well. Water Access Passes are $20 for the year and must be visibly affixed to the vessel or the towing vehicle.
• Watercrafts without lights must be off the water before sunset. Watercraft with proper lighting for the type of vessel must be off the water 30 minutes after sunset. These exact times are posted at the boat ramp and are changed daily.
