Just before 10:30 p.m. on Sat., July 11 Aurora Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported explosion and fire in the 12900 block of E. Colorado Ave. One occupant sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, another occupant was able to escape without serious injury. Crews conducting searches of the home were able to help remove a dog who was stuck inside, the pet was able to walk out and is expected to be okay.
The investigation into the origin and cause is still active and ongoing. All residents were displaced from their home.
