Aurora Fire Rescue (AFR) announces the promotion of five members to command staff ranks and a change in leadership responsibility for another.
Newly promoted command staff members include:

Rod Weber was promoted July 10 to the rank of Deputy Chief and will oversee the Emergency Operations Division.

Allen Robnett was promoted June 7 to the rank of Deputy Chief and will oversee the Professional Development & Personnel Support Division.
•
Mark Hays was promoted June 7 to the rank of Commander and will serve in the Professional Development & Personnel Support Division.
•
Derek De Van was promoted July 31 to Battalion Chief and assigned to Battalion 2 B-shift.
•
Brandon Sauder was promoted July 31 to Battalion Chief and assigned to Battalion 2 C-shift.
Additionally, Commander Wendy Lippman has assumed responsibility of the Office of the Fire Chief where she oversees planning, research and emergency management.
Aurora Fire Chief Fernando M. Gray Sr. has offered his congratulations to these members and stated “I am excited about the additions and modifications to our senior leadership team. These individuals were selected through a very challenging and intentional process. They are all motivated by providing outstanding service to our firefighters, the community and fostering relationships with all stakeholders.
