City of Aurora makes golf more accessible for emerging players with partnership with PEAK Golf Academy

Aurora Hills Golf Course, 50 S. Peoria St., is partnering with PEAK Golf Academy to expand its long-established Junior and Adult Programs. The new partnership will help meet the demand for emerging players who want to become better acquainted with the sport, with coaches who can provide a supportive and inclusive environment.
PEAK Golf Academy takes a holistic approach to coaching new players by offering personalized assessments for students. These assessments are designed to help evaluate the strengths and weaknesses while diving deep into the goals of each individual. The aim is to develop a personalized plan to help students play at their best and foster a lifelong love for the game.
“It’s ok to be scared when starting out. I truly believe there is nothing you can’t achieve, regardless of disabilities or limitations,” said Katie Milstead, PEAK Golf Academy instructor.
Both PEAK Golf Academy and Aurora Golf understand the power of human connection that golf can offer. As one of the few multi-generational sports out there, it’s important to make it as accessible and inclusive as possible to ensure that it continues to thrive for many generations to come.
Aurora Hills, Aurora’s first public course, and the city’s four other golf courses are no strangers when it comes to implementing programs to support youth and new players. For years, the city has offered initiatives such as camps, scholarships and Kids Golf Free, times each day where youth 17 and younger can golf for free with a paying adult. This partnership is the next step to expand these opportunities.
“This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to make golf more accessible and enjoyable for all players regardless of their background, age or skill level,” said Dan Wickman, manager of Aurora Golf. “We look forward to our partnership with PEAK helping introduce the next generation of golfers to the sport we love.”
