Aurora Accepting Funding Applications from Developers to Help Expand Affordable Housing
Aurora’s Housing and Community Development Division is accepting funding applications from developers interested in creating and/or preserving affordable housing in Aurora. This opportunity is part of the Community Investment Financing Program, which offers grants or loans as gap financing for developers. The deadline to apply for the summer financing round is 10 p.m. MST on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024. The application and more information can be found at AuroraGov.org/AHR.
The city provides two funding opportunities per calendar year (spring and summer); over $5 million in funding is available via the summer round from the following funding sources:
- HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME)
- Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
- Community Development Block Grant - COVID (CDBG-CV)
- Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERA2)
Funding applications are evaluated based on alignment with the policies and goals of the Aurora Housing Strategy. The process is expected to be highly competitive, and not all applications will receive awards.
City staff will host an informational virtual meeting via Teams at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, to provide an overview of the program and answer questions from developers. The recording and presentation will be posted on the program website.
