City of Aurora seeking dedicated lifeguards

The city of Aurora’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Department is seeking to hire dedicated lifeguards for all indoor and outdoor pools.

This is an excellent opportunity for people looking for additional income or to start a professional career. Lifeguards perform essential tasks to maintain the safety and cleanliness of swimming pools, provide patron information and respond to emergencies.

The minimum qualifications for this exciting position include being 15 years or older, maintaining a safe environment at the worksite, knowledge of pool safety and emergency action plans, life-saving techniques and emergency response skills. Free training, licenses and certificates will be provided as part of the onboarding process, including lifeguard training, standard first aid and CPR certification and emergency oxygen certification.

There will be lifeguard hiring events at city pools to provide more information, application assistance and on-site interviews; conditional offers will be made during event days.

  • April 24, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Southeast Recreation Center, 25400 E. Alexander Drive

  • April 27, 1 to 5 p.m., Central Recreation Center, 18150 E. Vassar Place

 

  • May 4, 1 to 5 p.m., Moorhead Recreation Center, 2390 Havana St.

  • May 5, noon to 4 p.m., Utah Indoor Pool, 1800 S. Peoria St.

Lifeguards will receive additional benefits, such as free access to Aurora’s recreation centers, free equipment and uniforms, flexible schedules and career advancement opportunities. Pay starts at $17.50.
