The Aurora Fox Arts Center is bringing the magic of classic cinema back to its historic theater with the launch of Fox Flix, a new monthly film series, offering audiences a chance to experience iconic, family-friendly movies on the big screen once again.
Fox Flix is designed to fill the gap left by the closure of several beloved independent theaters in the metro area,” said Richard Cowden, executive producer of the Aurora Fox Arts Center.
Held one Saturday afternoon each month, Fox Flix will kick off at 2 p.m. March 1 with “Labyrinth,” the 1986 cult classic starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly. The adventure follows 16-year-old Sarah as she navigates a magical labyrinth to rescue her baby brother from the enigmatic Goblin King.
Fox Flix is a nostalgic nod to the Aurora Fox’s origins. Before becoming a hub for live performances, the venue first opened as a movie theater in 1946. Now, moviegoers can sit back, relax and enjoy cinematic favorites in a setting rich with local history. Admission is only $5, and concessions, including drinks and snacks, will be available for purchase.
