If
you have never registered with Aurora before, you must call
303.739.6813 to set up an appointment prior to registering. Appointments
are made on Tuesday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

If
you have registered with Aurora before, no appointment is necessary. Re-registration
and address changes can be completed seven days per week at the Aurora
Detention Facility, 14999 E Alameda Pkwy.
The facility operates 24 hours per day.

If
you have any change whatsoever in your residence,
you must come to the Aurora Detention Facility and
complete another registration form within 5 days. Changes include, but are
not limited to:
In accordance with 16-22-108 C.R.S., the city
of Aurora collects fees from the person required to register as a sex offender.
Effective immediately, the following fees will be required:
New Registration - $75
(for offenders who have never been registered in Aurora before)
If you stay at a
residence for more than 14 days in a 30 day period, it has become your
residence and must be reported. If you are transient, (lacking a fixed
residence), the area where you are staying must be reported. If you have a
residence, you cannot register as Lacking a Fixed Residence. See 16-22 C.R.S.
for further requirements.
If you are a “temporary resident”, a resident
of another state but in Colorado for employment, enrolled in any type of
educational institution, vacation, travel, retirement or any other reason for
more that 14 consecutive business days or for an aggregate period of more than
30 days in a calendar year, you must register.
Renewal Registrations - $25
De-registrations - no charge
Fees must be submitted in the form of cash,
personal check, or money order with proper ID. (A current driver’s
license, state-issued ID card, military ID and passport are acceptable forms of
ID.) We cannot make more than $50.00 in change.
If you are unable to pay the fee at the time
you register, you may apply for a 45-day extension for the payment of the
fee. However, you must still complete your sex offender registration by
the required date.

you ever have any questions or problems, please call 303.739.6813 and
leave a message. Someone will get back to you. DO NOT call
the detectives directly, since nobody monitors their voice mail when they
are on vacation, in training, in court, etc.
IMPORTANT: Penalties for failure to comply with mandatory sex offender registration are substantial. In most cases, violation of the registration requirement constitutes a separate offense.
