Program will provide up to 10% of the purchase price for qualifying Aurora homebuyers
The city of Aurora is now accepting applications for a new down payment assistance program designed to help more residents achieve homeownership.
The program is reserved for homebuyers who meet the following criteria:
- The home must be located within the city of Aurora.
- Eligible households may earn no more than 120% of the area median income (AMI). In the three counties Aurora occupies, that translates to an annual income of up to $168,120 for a family of four. This makes the program accessible to a wide range of working families and individuals. (AMI levels are calculated at the federal level and are subject to change without warning.)
This unique program will cover between 4% and 10% of the purchase price of a home.
Assistance is provided as a silent second loan, meaning no monthly payments are required. The loan is only repaid when the homeowner sells the property, refinances, or pays off the primary mortgage.
To fill out an application, visit portal.neighborlysoftware.com/auroraco/participant and create an account if you do not already have one. Find the Down Payment Assistance application in the menu and click on the "Start Application" button.
Residents interested in applying or seeking additional details can contact the program team by emailing [email protected] or calling 303-739-7900.
This opportunity is available through Oct. 31, 2026, or until all available funding is distributed to households.
The Colorado Department of Local Affairs provided a grant to power this program. The money was drawn from revenues set aside by Proposition 123, a statewide ballot measure dedicated to funding programs and initiatives designed to improve housing outcomes in communities across Colorado.
