Water Conservation Education and Events

More than half of the water used during the spring and summer is used for outdoor watering. Help do your part to save water and money by learning more about water conservation. Aurora Water offers free, in-person and on-demand classes about efficient watering, water-wise landscapes, drought-tolerant plants and more.
For more in-person educational opportunities, Aurora Water will also host a Water-wise Day Expo this May and Coffee with Conservation throughout the summer.

We will have classes throughout 2024, but the courses will show up by season. To sign up for conservation, recreation or sports programs, sign up or log in to the city's Xplor Recreation system using the gray button above.

If you have any trouble with signing up, logging in or registering for classes, you can call any of our recreation centers and have a staff person help you sign up. Call any of Aurora's recreation centers for help.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I don't register for a class in advance?

While registration is required, we do get the occasional walk-in. These students will sign-in and receive credit for attending the class.

What if I need to leave a class early or if I'm running late?

Not a problem, we will not penalize anyone for needing to miss part of a class.

What about people who come in just to stay for five minutes and then leave?

That would be unfortunate because we’re providing a ton of useful information! But we do realize that emergencies come up. Staff will not be policing a student’s length of stay.
