City Center Visioning Study

Aurora’s City Center area—the area east of I-225 and flanking Alameda Parkway to the north and south—has seen significant investment in new shopping, services and restaurants in recent years. But there’s potentially much more to come, with much development interest in the area and opportunities for investment that could transform the area even further.

To help shape and support this development interest, the city plans to create a vision and development framework for this area. There will be several opportunities along the way to share your thoughts about the right mix of housing, shopping, jobs, entertainment, recreation and other activities that could be a part of City Center and what will draw people to this area for years to come.

Public Meeting No. 1

Public outreach opportunities were originally scheduled to start in April, but were postponed due to COVID-19.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Aug. 6 virtual meeting. A recording of the meeting is now posted.

View the slides from the virtual meeting.

Whether you attended the meeting or not, we would like everyone to take a survey to find out more about your thoughts related to City Center. The deadline to complete the survey has been extended to Sept. 15.

Take the survey now.

The Aug. 6 virtual public meeting was the first in a series of two meetings in which participants will learn about development opportunities in the City Center area and share their vision for how City Center grows and evolves in the coming years.

The meeting featured a series of local speakers discussing opportunities for growth and investment in the area, including the topics of retail and restaurants, housing, office and employment, entertainment and hospitality, small and locally owned businesses, and marketing and branding.

Those who were unable to attend Aug. 6 may view the recorded meeting online and share their thoughts through an online survey.
