Over the last year, Aurora Public Library has been reimagined. Those of us honored to serve our Aurora community at the seven-library system have a renewed energy and enthusiasm that is apparent in how we do business, from enhanced customer service and expanded programming to a more diversified collection and different use of spaces.
Now, we are ready for the next phase—introducing Aurora Public Library’s new identity. Featuring vibrant colors radiating from a bright light, this identity represents the culmination of our process to reimagine Aurora Public Library.
Aurora Public Library—a city of Aurora service—is launching its new identity as unique but not separate from the city of Aurora brand. The new identity reflects the personality of what Aurora Public Library is today—a dynamic and energetic library system with an assortment of programs and services, in addition to books.
The new identity is taking place at a paramount moment in Aurora Public Library history. 2022 ended with the highest number of items borrowed in the last 12 years and the most ever borrowed digitally. And 2023 started very strong with the extended hours at Central Library and Tallyn’s Reach Library, the opening of Chambers Plaza Library, a brand-new Bookmobile, new shelving and furniture at Central Library, and many other improvements.
The rest of 2023 and 2024 will bring more exciting things, such as improvements to Tallyn’s Reach Library and Mission Viejo Library, and of course, the $2.5 million remodeling of Martin Luther King Jr. Library. And to top it off, several branches will celebrate milestone anniversaries in the coming years.
What Stays the Same
Our mission and our commitment to you remains unchanged. We will provide you the best experience at the library and be that place— whether online or physical—where you find your path or next passion, where you open your horizons to knowledge, or where you just continue or develop the joy of reading!
While you will notice new colors and improved navigation, as well an updated calendar, the library website will continue with the same URL, AuroraLibrary.org.
What’s Different
Our renewed energy is reflected in this new image. When we talk about a reimagined Aurora Public Library, we start with the people. We are reinventing ourselves with a focus on continuous improvement, much like the continuous, lifelong -learning that we encourage among our patrons.
As part of the new image, our social media channels are changing. Make sure to follow
@AuroraLibrary on Facebook and Instagram, and
AuroraLibraryCO on Twitter and YouTube.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
