Aurora Volunteer Center

Lend a hand and volunteer with city of Aurora programs

Volunteering helps make our community great, and it also provides you with personal benefits. You will explore your interests, meet new people, build confidence, improve or acquire new skills, feel good about yourself and have fun.

Volunteering also provides a vital service to the community by assisting the city’s programs and services. Volunteers may serve as museum tour guides, conduct story times, coach youth sports, usher at live theater performances, maintain gardens, assist at special events and more.

City Manager Jason Batchelor shares why volunteering is so important:

How to get started:

  • Determine how much time you have, how frequently you want to volunteer and what you want to do.

  • Check out available volunteer opportunities using the link below.

  • Once you identify an opportunity that interests you, sign up by creating an account in the system. You will then be contacted by the city staff person in charge of the program for next steps.

Other volunteer opportunities to consider

The city of Aurora has boards, commissions, committees and/or authorities composed of resident volunteers appointed by the Aurora City Council. To apply, check out board and commission openings
