Partners & Volunteers in Emergencies

People often want to help during disasters and emergencies, either in the form of giving time, money, skills and/or goods. While this is greatly appreciated, it is critical that volunteers work with an agency or organization versed in responding to disasters to receive proper training before a disaster happens. This helps us, not only in role identification, but to work effectively with responding agencies and organizations.

If you are interested in emergency or disaster volunteering, the Aurora Office of Emergency Management can suggest the following partners that we work closely with before, during and after an emergency or disaster:

Aurora Ready Trainings

Aurora Ready is a 2.5-hour class to prepare you and your family for disasters and emergencies. This redesigned Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program will prepare you in three core elements: Preparedness, Home Safety and First Aid.
