Aurora Historic Landmarks & Districts

Historic landmarks tell the story of Aurora, from a small 19th century “trolley town” on the fringes of an emerging metropolis, to a growing suburb of the 1950s. Historic homes, businesses and other sites and structures are the physical memories of Aurora’s rich history. They are valuable resources that need to be protected and shared with the community for today and for the future.

Jump in your car and take a drive through history with Story Line. The Historic Sites & Preservation Office is proud to provide an audio tour resource for Aurora residents and visitors. Select historic sites have a narrative that relates a story about the location. Use the historic sites brochure and map as a guide.
