Auditions for the 2025 Production of "The Nutcracker Ballet"

Aurora Dance Arts is proud to announce the auditions for the 2025 fall production of "The Nutcracker Ballet.” We welcome students from the Aurora Dance Arts Continuous Dance Program as well as dancers from surrounding metro area dance studios to audition for various roles in this classic holiday ballet.

Please consider auditioning to join us in the Victorian age, as we produce the timeless and imaginative story of Clara, the Nutcracker Prince, and the Sugar Plum Fairy in her Land of Sweets, to be danced to life on stage in December. This show will bring together many age groups/levels, a variety of musical selections and the beautiful art of ballet/pointe with a few other specialty dance genres thrown in the mix. We only produce "The Nutcracker Ballet" every other year, so now is the time to join us for our ADA twist on this beloved tradition!

Auditions for the 2025-2026 Season of the Aurora Dance Hearts!

We will be holding Auditions for dancers who are interested in also trying out for the 2025-2026 Season of the Aurora Dance Hearts Performing Groups the same weekend as Nutcracker Auditions. The Aurora Dance Hearts Auditions will be held on Sunday, Aug. 10 from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Expo Rec Center prior to the call-backs for "Nutcracker."

The Aurora Dance Hearts are special groups of dancers who serve as ambassadors for the program at various events throughout the year. Generally, these groups perform anywhere from 10-15 extra times per year, and dancers in Group A get the opportunity for two additional concert-style stage performances at the Aurora Fox Arts Center and the Elaine Wolf Theater!

Participation in these groups is decided by audition and the process is selective. Dancers must commit to a challenging schedule of extra classes/rehearsals and appearances. Though it is demanding, it is also so much fun!

More info to come as we continue to communicate the audition information for "The Nutcracker Ballet."

Mark your calendars now and stay tuned!

Auditions for the Back to Dance Kick-off Student Choreography Showcase

Aurora Dance Arts is pleased to announce that we will be holding Auditions on Sunday, July 20 at 4:15 p.m. at Expo Rec Center for dancers in the Continuous Children's Dance program that would like to submit a choreographic piece for our Back to Dance Kickoff Student Choreography Showcase in August.

It is one of the missions of Aurora Dance Arts to offer a variety of performance opportunities to our dancers. We also believe deeply in allowing the chance for dancers to express themselves creatively by choreographing original works. This special opportunity allows dancers a chance to create, develop and have their own voice shared through choreographic expression in a showcase to be presented at the end of the summer.

Please click the button below for details and information regarding these Student Choreography Showcase Auditions.

We are so excited about this opportunity in our Aurora Dance Arts season, and we are very inspired by the talents of our budding young artists. We sure hope that many of our dancers will consider submitting!
