Location: Along the R Line on the east side of Abilene Street, directly north of the 2nd Avenue intersection and adjacent to the High Line Canal Trail

Parking: 200 commuter spaces

Vision: This is envisioned as a neighborhood-serving station that features multi-modal accessibility. The Abilene Station Area Plan includes transit supportive housing at medium to high densities, with the idea to expand on the existing mix of condo and apartment units in the area. Development properties close to this station area are also within walking distance of the Aurora City Place retail center and other retail and restaurant destinations in Aurora’s City Center district.

Other Land Details: Parcels in this area front onto the more than 70-mile-long High Line Canal Trail, which offers an unparalleled recreational experience for hikers and cyclists.

Connectivity: The city has identified several station area improvement projects to enhance the pedestrian connections to the station, and is currently working on projects which include a new bridge crossing the High Line Canal, pedestrian lighting on trails, and new sidewalk connections.

What's New: The site features a newly constructed Courtyard by Marriott Denver Aurora, which opened in 2021.
