(Feb. 16, 2025) – The Aurora Police Department Major Crime Homicide Unit is investigating an apparent murder suicide that occurred Sunday in northwest Aurora.
Just before 5:30 p.m., Aurora911 received a call about a possible domestic violence incident involving a man and a woman inside a recreational vehicle parked at General’s Park, located in the 1500 block of Quentin Street. Aurora police patrol officers were responding when the shooting occurred.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located a 31-year-old man and a 63-year-old man who both had apparent gunshot wounds. Officers performed lifesaving actions on the men until medical responders arrived at the scene.
The 63-year-old man was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. The 31-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene. They will be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
The preliminary investigation suggests one of the men shot the other before turning the gun on himself.
A 45-year-old woman also was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The woman was not involved in the shooting.
Major Crime Homicide Unit detectives responded and are leading the investigation, which is active and ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867). Tipsters can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
