Aurora Fire Rescue responded to a fire that affected two single-family homes near 17600 East Bethany Place at approximately 4:00 pm. One home had significant fire damage to its exterior, with fire also in the attic. The siding of the neighboring home also caught fire due to the intense radiant heat. Fire crews, ensuring the safety of all, deployed hose lines to confine and extinguish the fire while searching each home for people and pets. The fire is out, and no injuries have been reported. One family will be displaced due to fire damage. AFR prevented the fire from spreading to the second house, and due to their quick action, the second home remains tenable. The fire is under investigation.
