Summer of Imagination: Adventure Begins at Your Library

Summer of Imagination, presented by Bellco Credit Union, returns to Aurora Public Library as Adventure Begins at Your Library! You can receive a free book, while supplies last, when you register starting Saturday, June 1.

When You Register

Not only will you receive a free book, you can also receive a coupon for a free meal at Raising Canes and can redeem them at any location within the metro area. McDonalds coupons will also be available, while supplies last.

You can also receive a complimentary ticket to a Colorado Rapids match. All registered participants will receive a voucher to access a ticket link to redeem their complimentary ticket with purchase of additional discounted tickets. Vouchers will be redeemable for select Summer and Fall dates.

You can register and collect these items at any Aurora Public Library branch.

What to Expect

After registering, you can grab a passport from any Aurora Public Library branch to begin your adventure. You can keep track of your progress through the passport and through Beanstack, our new tracking platform.

You can then turn in your passport at any Aurora Public Library branch for a chance to win a prize. Eight activities awards you one raffle entry and completing all activities will award you two raffle entries. Raffle prizes will be drawn beginning Monday, Aug. 5.

A library card Is not needed to register; however, a library card can be requested for those interested. Participating in Summer of Imagination activities are free!


Summer of Imagination Kick-Off Events

  • Friday, May 31, 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., Central Library
    Kick off your summer at Central Library with an engaging performance by Danza Azteca. Enjoy snacks, music and dancing, and a free book when you register for Summer of Imagination. Dance performance begins at 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 1, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tallyn’s Reach Library
    Meet Pete the Cat and register for Summer of Imagination. Pete the Cat stories are at 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Take a picture with Pete the Cat from noon to 1 p.m. Then, enjoy the movie “Inside Out" at 1 pm. Teens can enjoy a special event at 4 pm. Pete the Cat will return for photos from 3 to 4 p.m. Crafts and a special scavenger hunt will happen all day.
  • Tuesday, June 4, 10:30 a.m., Mission Viejo Library
    Enjoy Puppet Tales, a magic comedy puppet show for kids! Stick around for a craft and sign up for our Summer of Imagination program.
  • Thursday, June 6, 4 p.m., Martin Luther King Jr. Library
    Pizza and Wildlife! Eat delicious pizza at 3:30 p.m. then enjoy an interactive presentation from Colorado Parks and Wildlife at 4 pm. Learn about wildlife identification from an expert.
  • Saturday, June 15, 6 to 8 p.m., Iliff Square Library
    Enjoy pizza while watching “The Librarian”.
  • Saturday, July 13, Noon to 2 p.m., Hoffman Heights Library
    Hoffman is turning 60 years old! Celebrate at Jewell Park with games, cupcakes and more. You can also sign up for summer reading. Presents optional.
  • Friday, July 19, 4:30 p.m., Chambers Plaza Library
    Have an adventure at your library! Watch and learn a hula dance with Kalama Polynesian Dancers and stay for delectable bites from around the world.
Additional events and activities for all ages will take place throughout Summer of Imagination, including Forest and Water Nature Adventures, Smoky Hill Trail Adventures and more.
