At approximately 2:44 PM, Aurora Fire Rescue responded to reports of a structure fire near 11000 East Yale Avenue. When AFR crews arrived, they found heavy smoke throughout the building and a fire in the elevator motor compartment. Due to safety concerns, the building was evacuated. Fire crews worked diligently to extinguish the fire, and we are grateful to report that there were no injuries. Fire crews used large fans to expel the smoke, and occupants were allowed back into the building.
