Fire at a 3-story multifamily structure

 

March 16th, 2024, (AURORA, CO.) Aurora Fire Rescue responded to reports of a structural fire near 1600 N Boston St. Upon arrival, AFR discovered a fire on the 3rd floor of a 3-story apartment building. Firefighters promptly extinguished the fire and thoroughly searched the structure. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the structure remained intact. The tenants were not displaced, and the building remained habitable. The investigation revealed that an unattended lithium-ion battery caused the fire. It is important to note that batteries can spontaneously combust if left on their charger. To prevent such incidents, please unplug batteries once they are fully charged.
