(Feb. 28, 2024) – The Aurora Police Department Major Crime Homicide Unit is investigating a homicide that occurred at an apartment complex in southwest Aurora.
About 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024, patrol officers responded to a welfare check at an apartment in the 12600 block of East Pacific Circle. When officers arrived at the scene, the apartment door was open and there were lights on inside the home.
Officers announced they were outside. When they didn’t receive an answer, the officers entered the apartment to perform a safety check and found a 46-year-old man with a single gunshot wound. The man was pronounced at the scene. He will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
There is no suspect information. However, the preliminary investigation indicates the homicide was not random.
