Aurora Police Make Arrest in Fatal Shooting

The Aurora Police Department Major Crime Homicide Unit made an arrest in Friday night's fatal shooting.

(Feb. 11, 2024) – The Aurora Police Department Major Crime Homicide Unit (MCHU) has made an arrest in the fatal shooting of an adult woman who passed away Friday night.

Approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded to a call of a shooting at a residence in the 1700 block of Paris Street. Police found one adult female inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound. She passed away at the scene. The Adams County Coroner's Office will identify the deceased.

Through the investigation, Aurora police's Major Crime Homicide Unit found 32-year-old Kelynn Lewis to be a suspect in the shooting.

With help from Aurora police's FAST, SWAT, DART and K9 units, MCHU located Lewis and arrested him for first degree murder Sunday morning.

The investigation is ongoing.
