Aurora Fire Rescue units dispatched to a fully involved structure fire on the eastern Aurora border.
At approximately 3:06 pm on Sunday October 22nd, Aurora Fire Rescue crews were dispatched to a fire in a residence off north of Highway I70 and west of Powhaton Rd. AFR crews approached the scene and found a fully involved residential house fire with flames throughout the structure and fire spreading into the adjacent grass land around the structure. AFR and Sable-Altura crews worked together to contain and extinguish both the structure and the grass land exposure fire that was associated with the incident. After a coordinated effort, both fires were brought under control, the residence of origin is believed to have no regular occupant and assumed abandoned.
At this time, no injuries are reported as result of this incident and an investigation into the origin of the incident is currently under way.
