(Sept. 17, 2023) - The Aurora Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian that occurred this morning in the parking lot of The Medical Center of Aurora.
Officers responded at 9:35 a.m. Sunday, to a report of a crash in the parking lot of 1501 South Potomac Street, The Medical Center of Aurora. The investigation revealed a woman was lying down in a lane of travel when she was run over by a Ford sedan going eastbound through the parking lot.
The pedestrian, a 55-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased on scene, and the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office will identify her. The driver, a 35-year-old man, remained on scene, and speed nor alcohol are believed to be contributing factors.
The crash marks the 48th traffic-related death this year in Aurora.
