Aurora Police Investigating Fatal Auto vs. Pedestrian Crash
(July 30, 2023) – The Aurora Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian crash in the Del Mar Parkway neighborhood.
Officers responded to a report of a crash at 8:53 p.m. Saturday, near the intersection of Dayton Street and East 10th Avenue. The investigation revealed a Mazda was driving north on Dayton when it struck a woman who was crossing mid-block near 10th Avenue.
The woman was rushed to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries. The driver of the Mazda remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Impairment is not a contributing factor of the crash, which remains under investigation.
The woman will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
This is the 42nd traffic-related fatality this year in Aurora.
