Woman dies following a two-vehicle crash on E. Colfax Ave
(July 4, 2023) – The Aurora Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating after a woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday night.
Patrol officers responded at about 9:15 p.m. Monday, July 3, to a report of a crash on East Colfax Avenue and North Roosevelt Way. A 69-year-old Aurora woman was driving a 2004 Dodge Neon eastbound E. Colfax and was making a left-hand turn to go northbound on Roosevelt Way. A man was driving a 2010 Ford F-150 and traveling westbound on Colfax when the woman turned left in front of him. The woman was tragically pronounced deceased on the scene. Medical care was provided to the man, but he was not transported to the hospital.
Colfax was closed for roughly three hours last night. Traffic Investigators will now be responsible for reconstructing the scene and examining physical evidence to determine the cause of the crash and any contributing factors.
