(June 24, 2023) 10:00 p.m. - The Aurora Police Department arrested one person on Saturday in connection with a fatal shooting early Saturday morning in the 3000 block of N. Peoria Street.
Jeovany Gonzalez-Acuna, 32, was arrested on one charge of first-degree murder and domestic violence.
Gonzalez-Acuna was arrested Saturday just before 7:00 p.m. without incident by the Aurora police SWAT, FAST and DART teams on E. Parker Avenue and S. Dartmouth Road.
The charges stem from 6:45 a.m. Saturday, June 24, when officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence on N. Peoria Street. When officers arrived, they found one adult female that had succumbed to a gunshot wound.
Final charges will be determined by the Adams County DA’s Office. The Adam's County Coroner's Office will identify the female and cause of death.

(June 24, 2023) - The Aurora Police Department’s Major Crimes Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in the 3000 block of N. Peoria Street.
Aurora patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting at 6:45 a.m. When officers arrived, they found an adult woman that appeared to have succumbed to a gunshot wound. This individual was pronounced at the scene.
Police were unable to locate the person that called the incident in.
The woman’s name will be released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office along with the official cause of death.
There is no suspect information at this time. The investigation is active and ongoing.
