A victim has succumbed to their injuries after an apartment fire on the evening of November 28. Just before 6:15 p.m. yesterday Aurora Fire Rescue crews were alerted to a residential structure fire at 1324 N. Xanadu Street. Sadly, fire officials were notified today, November 29, that a resident who was transported to the hospital later died. Aurora Fire Rescue investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
Soon after arriving, firefighters performed an initial search of the building, began fire suppression operations, and found one victim inside. The patient was provided care immediately by Aurora Fire Rescue medics and was transported to a local hospital. A sprinkler system activated and the fire was contained to one apartment unit.
“Despite the dedication and professionalism of our members who provided care, our community has suffered a loss and our department is saddened by this incident,” said Aurora Fire Rescue Interim Chief Allen Robnett.
Information about the deceased and manner of death will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office according to their practices.
