Instructor: Terra Necessary
Supplies from this class can all be bought from a local art supply store such as Michael's, Guiry’s or Meininger’s, as well as online at www.dickblick.com, amazon and other online vendors.
Necessary Supplies
- Watercolor set: Please buy a pan set or be sure to buy a matching plastic watercolor palette if you buy tube paints. I suggest Student grade or above ($15-70ish for a set) with at least 12 colors
- Brush set: you will need a variety (5 to 15) of watercolor brushes. Avoid cheaper brush bundles (under $10) the value isn’t worth the hassle.
- Watercolor paper: 9x12 or larger. Sketch book or individual pieces (5 minimum, art stores will cut larger pieces down for free) is the artist's choice, as is hot (smooth) or cold (lightly textured) press. Be sure paper is at least 140 pounds (Higher is better)
- Pencil (2h or lighter recommended)
- Eraser
- Graphite Paper
- Painters tape/Masking tape
Optional Supplies: Frisket or other resist, spray bottle, white ink (Pen, acrylic paint, or speedball white ink), clear grid ruler, kneaded eraser, colored pencils, Mr. Clean Erase, and inking pens
