Get involved and have fun! Volunteers have a chance to make new friends, improve their skills and make a difference in our community. Volunteers are all ages and backgrounds. If you have a few hours to share or are looking for an ongoing volunteer opportunity, we can help you.

The City of Aurora Volunteer Center has an extensive volunteer matching data base that includes everything from delivering meals to the home bound, tutoring children, being an animal companion or planting a garden. If you enjoy helping at special events, we have several throughout the year for you to choose from. Colorado’s largest pumpkin launching contest is the highlight of Aurora’s annual Jack-O-Launch at PumpkinFest on Saturday, October 11. The event features a pumpkin patch, haunted storytelling, scarecrow making, a cider press and more. Volunteers are needed to help with everything from hayrides to sack races. Mark your calendar and join us to volunteer at Jack-O-Launch at PumpkinFest, located at DeLaney Farm, 170 S. Chambers Road, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Volunteer registration begins September 1. The Parks & Open Space Department offers number of volunteer opportunities from a one-day clean up to open space projects designed and built by volunteers.

The City of Aurora has 29 boards, committees, commissions and/or authorities made up of citizen volunteers who provide their point of view on city operations and the city council’s decision-making process.

Group of Kids Volunteering

The Volunteer Center is a program of the Cultural Services Division, Library, Recreation & Cultural Services Department, City of Aurora. The Cultural Services Division is the largest single provider of arts and culture in the City of Aurora offering programs in performing arts, fine arts, history, public art, special events and festivals, and community volunteerism.
