Pool Closure Notice: The Southeast Recreation Center pool remains closed as PW (Public Works) engages with Saunders (the facility construction contractor) regarding construction defects identified during the repair of the most recent water pipeline leak in the pool area. PW, with the support of PROS, is doing additional investigative work focused on the pool water delivery systems beneath the concrete pool deck. The pool water delivery system was not constructed appropriately and if not addressed now may result in ongoing and expensive operational issues for the life of the facility. The current repair work is under warranty. The pool will remain closed until the extent of the construction defects are understood and corrected. We do not have a pool reopening date at this time. Once a schedule is finalized, we will provide an update to City Council.
Update: Starting Wednesday, Jan. 1, the following age regulations will be enforced at all city of Aurora recreation centers to enhance the experience and ensure the safety of all guests:
Facilities, Gyms & Pools
• Children ages 6 and younger require a parent or guardian.
• Children ages 7 to 9 require a guardian 12 years or older.
• Children ages 10 and older are allowed without supervision.
