Business Recognition Awards

Through the Business Recognition Awards Program established in 2005, the city of Aurora has acknowledged businesses in our community that have contributed to the city's economic vitality. Honorees are presented with the award at a celebratory event hosted by the city.

In 2024, the format changed for the Business Recognition Awards, with our elected leaders and city management visiting each place of business to distribute the awards directly to the recipients. Video profiles of the winners are available below.

The program recognizes not only the economic vitality that businesses of all sizes and types bring to Aurora, but also the support these businesses provide to their employees and broader community. Award winners will be honored in person this fall at the Aurora Municipal Center.

Nominees will be evaluated by one or more of the following criteria: resiliency and community impact; innovation and creativity; “small, small” businesses with great customer service; manufacturing; and equity, diversity and inclusion. Honorable mentions also will be given to essential heroes such as community organizations, individuals, nonprofits and community initiatives that continued to provide essential services throughout the pandemic.
